Collingwood Ontario is quickly becoming one of the top recreational destinations in Ontario with its enviable setting on beautiful Georgian Bay at the base of the Niagara Escarpment. As its reputation grows and more city folk choose to relocate or weekend here, the demand for quality restaurants and recreation has risen. In response, the last 5 years have seen numerous restaurants spring up and thankfully the majority have not been of the chain variety, but creative menus featuring thoughtful dishes, local produce and meats and appealing atmospheres.
In addition to restaurants, the Collingwood region is becoming known as a top notch golfing destination with exciting courses, both public and private either opening or being re-invented to capitalize on the beautiful scenery bestowed upon Souther Georgian Bay.
Our Top 5 Fav Restaurants in Collingwood, Ontario. No Particular Orde
This list will outline our personal restaurant favourites in the Collingwood area and hopefully will serve to save you some time and money the next time you are in town. After all, life is way too short to eat at bad, overpriced restaurants.
1.Bruce Wine Bar Kitchen: Thornbury.
Some of the best pizza I have ever had, including Chicago and New York. Cool vibe, solid wine list, and delicious appetizers.
2.Caf Chartreuse: Collingwood Downtown
French trained chef Patrick Bourachot serves up amazing breakfast and lunch dishes. The menu changes everyday featuring scrumptious pancakes, home made soups, sandwiches and salads
3.The Huron Club: Collingwood Downtown
The Huron Club makes our top 5 as it provides that rare blend of high quality food and atmosphere. Live music, from jazz to rock and blues is featured in the bar area which gets quite busy with the professional crowd, Thursday to Saturday. Delicious for both lunch and dinner.
4. Siamese Gecko: Downtown Collingwood till Dec 2012
A long time favourite authentic Thai restaurant on the main street of Collingwood. All the traditional staples are on the menu along with some very inventive dishes to awaken your taste buds. Best after dinner candies in town.
5.The Tremont Cafe : Downtown Collingwood
Located in the lovingly restored Tremont building which features both a caf and art studio. Lunch, brunch and dinner menus are out of this world. Service is top notch.
Bon app tit!
